About
We start by listening. To our own heart beat. Our own breath.
Los Angeles based sound artist Becca Cuellar supplies the sounds for afternoon naps under the trees and space walks. She also loves to decorate everything she can with nature’s bountiful resources. A guiding force in her life is the motto “Decorate your Spirit”. This is the way she sees the world and intends to interact. She loves animals, snacks, and being kind above all else.
After spending her teens and college years touring with award winning drum and bugle corps, the next quest was finding the peace within. Becoming a student of meditation led her to a 220-hour yoga certification from Yoga West LA, and 80 hour Prenatal yoga training from Gurmukh Khalsa in Portland, OR. She has trained in sound healing with Naomi Wilder M.A., Mike Tamburo, and Dharam Singh. Becca has shared the restorative vibrations up and down the West Coast with her gong named Star Hum.
In 2021, Becca released her debut album Star Hum: Dreamscapes, a collection of ambient meditation songs made of collected environmental sounds to celebrate seasons, the elements, and the depths of the human experience, waking and asleep.
By 2022, over 500 people received sound healing from Becca in person, and countless others online. She carved a niche for herself in the local Jewish community, providing sound healing for retreats, adult summer camps, women’s weekends and backyard rest sessions. She has gratefully facilitated sound healing for NuRoots, Trybal Gatherings, Moishe House, At The Well Project, Open Temple in Venice, and more.
2023 brought Becca’s second album Realizing Origin: Sound Healing for Jewish Meditation, composed of all live recordings of sound healing marking holidays and events through the Jewish year.
She is currently working toward her masters degree in Marital and Family Therapy – Art Therapy concentration at Loyola Marymount University and lives with her partner, their silly dog Zubi and gecko near the ocean for spontaneous and cleansing dips.
